[UC] Poison for public forums and the rise of censorship

Neighbors,

Since the beginning of the censored listserv, UC Neighbors, sponsored by the 
University of Pennsylvania and known to Penn President Amy Gutmann; Tony West 
has continuously advocated for censorship (list “moderation”) over neighborhood 
discussion forums.  Mr. West's “Glenn’s Whores” series is a powerful example of 
the unfolding and long term process of censorship.  

To make censorship and total domination complete, open communication must be 
destroyed, controlled, poisoned, etc.

Was Mr. West’s whore series an example of the “civil discussion” which has been 
used to justify censorship over our community?
  

While unable to refute the serious long term problems with FOCP, which I was 
systematically reporting to the community via this public forum; Mr. West used 
a bombardment of poisonous personal attacks and outright lies to shut down the 
reports to the neighborhood through intimidation of me while poisoning the 
forum.  Meanwhile, the censored forum for Mr. West et al, promoted as a place 
for civil discussions, can’t be monitored for dishonest propaganda.

No one knows who is on the censored forum, no one knows how many people are 
pre-banned, and no one knows when dissent to propaganda would be pre-emptively 
blocked from subscribers on a case by case basis.  The archives are closed.  
Once again, civility was clearly never the issue, as Mr. West conclusively 
demonstrated.


The Penn marketing machine, which uses organizations like FOCP/SHCA for the 
purpose of astroturfing, is massive!  Our community listserv and local 
newspapers are among the few mediums for open public discourse, necessary to 
maintain a free society and empower communities.  (Without the censorship 
promoters, like Mr. West and cyber bullies called the barking cheese gang; it 
has also been a quite civil forum compared to a few years ago.)

Destroying and poisoning the public channels for neighborhood communication 
must not be separated from the goals of censorship and complete domination of 
information.  Please consider the “Glenn’s whores” series in the context of the 
long term push for censorship.  Please study the history of control of 
propaganda and discourse during the rise of fascism, and transformation of 
civil society into totalitarian systems!
