I second all you have said, Ben....but with one caveat.  I would like to 
have the ability to empty mail folders without reading all the 
messages.  Newsgroups are different: the messages are not kept in the 
client, but on the server and so you shouldn't be able to delete a 
message unless you wrote it or are the sysadmin, anf I thought 
Beonex/Mozilla had this tied up well.

However, since the Mail & News UI is the same for mail and news this is 
understandable, but the ability to empty mail folders should be there.  
The alternative is to delete the mail folders and then I have to 
re-establish my filters.

This is not a problem with Beonex, but with Mozilla.  However, whenever 
I try to bring this to the attention of the relevant newsgroup, I keep 
getting told that the newsgroup is for developers only, not end users.

So excuse me from raising it here and under this thread, but it seems 
the most pertinent.
