Recently, I suggested that a webmaster change eis references
to Mozilla (as an alternative browser) to Beonex. Out of the ensuing
discussion on the LUG list he was a part of(which I cc the original
message to) came this message.
I think it makes some very sensible points. I am not able to
answer the point about how, if Beonex makes changes to Mozilla, it
can claim to be simply "Mozilla for end-users". Please read over the
message, and send your comments.

to what end?
beonex is making changes to mozilla (which is fine)
which may introduce new problems which beonex will handle, fine.
however, this makes beonex different from mozilla.
beonex is beonex and NOT mozilla for end users!
you may claim that beonex is better than mozilla for the end user
(because it is simpler or whatever) but you can not claim that
an enduser who wants to use mozilla should use beonex.
beonex is NOT the right answer for the enduser problem
that you describe. the right answer would be to get mozilla
theough your distributor such as debian, redhat or whatever.
they ship mozilla as is, fix bugs and handle enduser reports,
again, beonex is a good idea, it targets new users.
but beonex is not for all endusers.
greetings, martin.
