In my original reply, I was pointing out only that the bulk of 4-course guitar music looks very different to me than the bulk of 5-course guitar music, which in turn tends to be different from music for 6-string guitar. Given the general agreement of our points, I humbly submit that an opening conjunction other than "but" might be better suited. If anything, given the lack of obvious campanella effects and obviously notated rasgueado, 4-course guitar music might be better suited to 6-string guitars than much of the baroque repertoire...assuming you are willing to relegate your A and E to ornamental status.
