All the vihuela books except that by Milan are in Italian tab, with the
first course shown lowest (a mirror of the instrument). Milan is like modern
guitar tab (first course highest). The "z" is a "2". "0" is the open course.

You may already know this: If you make a Fronimo file using Italian tab, you
can convert it to French tab with a couple of mouse clicks.

Pardon this most purile of questions: I have the CD ROM of vihuela
facsimiles, and can't figure out how to play the number tablature. There
doesn't seem to be a correspondence to letter tab based on the weird
non-harmonies I'm creating. And, what on earth does the Z mean? I assumed 2,
but then found a clear '2' on the same page. Hmmmmmm. thanks.
