I think his music doesn't always lie on the fingerboard in a very convenient way - possibly because he was a lutenist rather than a guitarist and perhaps because the pieces were originally for lute and he was not a particularly skilled arranger.
Corbetta's music is very difficult to play but it always seems to be completely logical in the way it moves about the fingerboard.
Keep trying - there are two more movements. Monica----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Walsh" <s.wa...@ntlworld.com> To: "Monica Hall" <mjlh...@tiscali.co.uk>; "Vihuelalist" <vihuela@cs.dartmouth.edu>

Anyway - here's a go at the prelude - can't really make sense of it.Maybe somebody else will have a crack at it!I have just added 3 more pieces to my Foscarini opus on my [1]www.earlyguitar.ning.com site - the ones in E major on p.117. They are right at the end. For the time being I will put all new pieces at the end rather than stick to page order of the book to save time.http://www.pluckedturkeys.co.uk/FoscoEprel.mp3 StuartI wonder if there are any twitchers on this list (Stuart perhapsNo - but have many other failings). I was thrilled to see a whole flock of redwing on a tree in my back garden this morning and can't resist the urge to tell the world. I live in the least desirable part of the London Borough of Islington where things like that never happen.
