Philip,

Thank you for explaining to me the two difference between Java & Javascript.
I got it clear -- I didn't know there are two different kind! I appreciate
your information. Good thing, I will not get JavaScript for VNC! <G>

Johnny :)

It's worth knowing that, confusingly, Java and Javascript are two completely
different and unrelated programming systems. Javascript is a scripting
language which can be embedded in HTML to run in the browser when a page
loads. Java is a more sophisticated programming system (and one I've never
learned).

Philip,

FYI, not a separate plug-in. I installed Java from www.java.com and
installed it. I ran Firefox, it asked me to install add-on so, I went ahead.
It worked. I tested it with www.time.gov [sorry, this is an American time,
not the world!] that uses javascript so, it really worked wonderful in
Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Smile!
Johnny :)

That's great. Well done.

I use the Sun Java, from www.java.com, but that's just through following
links that have been offered at various times. Never had a problem. In
Firefox, I believe Java is a separate plug-in.

Hello, Philip!!

I got a good news for you!! I went to the kitchen to access my laptop via my
local Wi-Fi. I tried http://10.0.0.4:5800 <http://10.0.0.4:5800/> and it
worked OK, however, Firefox showed nothing. I tried Internet Explorer, it
requested me to get Java since my laptop doesn't have Java yet.

I have a question, though.

My laptop is running on Windows 7. I need to know which is the best so far
my XP system uses Sun Micro System's Java that I downloaded off of
www.sun.com <http://www.sun.com/> . Which is the best, the Sun's or
Microsoft's Java?

Let me know.

Thanks!

Johnny :-)
