Mike > The world is a non-linear, recursive system which generates deterministic > chaos. Well said. Very well said. That would also be close to my definition of a "stochastic process," at least in biology. Such a definition is has its own agenda, which can lead to a rationalization of a kind of non-dogmatic spirituality - rather Zen-like but more personal than Zen "professes to be." It is aimed towards defining the kind of "ID" that appeals to many scientists (Einstein, for instance) but I do not expect it to be embraced by either end of the the normal spectrum of conviction (going from evangelical belief to the most sterile atheism). Perhaps "stochastic", at least with respect to ID and how ID, when it is promoted as a scientifically valid perspective, should be worded closer to "The universe is a non-linear, recursive system which generates quasi-deterministic chaos, which can give the appearance of randomness to those inclined to desire randomness. Or vice-versa. Here is the Wiki entry on "deterministic chaos"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory
