you can see what appears to be a device similar to that shown on P.7 of: http://www.mtaonline.net/~hheffner/OddTransNotes.pdfI have to wonder if they built a device similar to the odd transformer shown there, but with the spacers and core rings exchanged, so as to produce good core-coil coupling. I thought about trying that, but never got around to it.
