That is not the fault of the cold fusion researchers, and there is nothing they -- or I -- can do about it. Acting defensively as if we have something to apologize for, or as if we need a extra helping of bona fides before anyone can believe us, will not help.
I can tell for first hand experiences that the field is very suspicious for a good number of people.
I know that! But I am not going to curry favor with such people, or give them any more information than they would legitimately demand from a website about any other academic subject. They have my address, phone number and e-mail address. They can ask me whatever they like, although I may choose not to answer. If they choose not to believe what I publish that is their problem, not mine.
If I upload a document to LENR-CANR.org discussing these issues, I would see that as a concession that people have a right to be suspicious about us. The skeptics might also see it that way.
