William,

I disagree that simply because the new WEDi listserv is "messing up the
MIME" by inserting messages should become listserv participants problem to
solve. The listserv provider should fix the problem their software is
causing.

Furthermore, I detest the fact that the new listserv provider is inserting
the "you are subscribed...." message at the beginning of each message - this
totally screws up a quick preview making managing these lists much more of a
chore.

No, you're not missing anything. The "new" WEDI listserves are
inserting messages (like "The WEDI SNIP listserv to which you are
subscribed is not moderated") in "all the wrong places" within the MIME
of the e-mail message, causing the base 64 encoded HTML to be all messed
up.

The solution is to always refrain from using HTML for *all* messages
sent to the WEDI listserves. Under Outlook or Outlook Express, use
Tools | Options | Send to always use plain text. Using plain text is a
good habit to get into for business correspondence, anyway - rather than
getting cute with fonts, colors and flowery backgrounds! We're not in
Junior High anymore, folks. Gawd, though I wish I were - knowing what I
know now.

Kelley's original message with the MIME fixed - and displayed in text -
is below.

The WEDI SNIP listserv to which you are subscribed is not moderated. The discussions
on this listserv therefore represent the views of the individual participants, and do
not necessarily represent the views of the WEDI Board of Directors nor WEDI SNIP. If
you wish to receive an official opinion, post your question to the WEDI SNIP Issues
Database at http://snip.wedi.org/tracking/. These listservs should not be used for
commercial marketing purposes or discussion of specific vendor products and services.
They also are not intended to be used as a forum for personal disagreements or
unprofessional communication at any time.
