[Winona Online Democracy] About Ted Hazelton's letter to the editor regarding Barak Obama's name. I did some research regarding Ted Hazelton's name. The first and last names of "Ted Hazelton" can have the letters in the two names rearranged 9,979,200 times.
That was too many combinations to deal with. "Hazelton" alones results in 40,320 permutations.I didn't have time to wade through 40,000 letter combinations so I dropped the last letter, "n" to reduce the number of combinations to "just" 5,040.
Here are some of words that can be found within his last name:If I want to find negative or evil things lurking in the name, then I would see = loathe, zealot, hate, helot...
If I want to find positive or good things residing in the name, then I would see = aloe, halo, heal...
How about the his first name, "Ted?" Ted is too short so I reverted to "Theodore."
Again, to make the list shorter, I dropped the last letter of the name, "e."If I want to find negative or evil things lurking in the name, then I would see = horde, dote, odor...
If I want to find positive or good things residing in the name, then I would see = rodeo, root, hero...
What could I "see" in his name? Horde Hate? Odor Zealot? Dote Loathe? or Halo Hero? Root Heal? Rodeo Aloe? I think we sometimes see what we want to see. Ted Hazlelton's opinion letter in the Winona Daily News is very troubling. If for no other reason than we have seen Ted grow in his position in a way that this writer would never have expected. It is disappointing. I understand we all have 1st Amendment rights, but I thought the letter was uncalled for and embarrassing not only for the writer but the school board and our community.
