Crispy Rolled Sugar Cookies  
      These light and crisp sugar cookies just melt in your mouth.  Rolling out 
the cookies with a mixture of flour and confectioners' sugar helps keep them 
crisp and pretty.  Everyone in the family will enjoy decorating the festive 
shapes.  
            Prep Time: 10 minutes
            Cook Time: 10 minutes 
            Makes about 22 (2 cookie) servings  
     
           
     
            Ingredients:
            1 cup butter, softened
            1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
            1 egg
            2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
            2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
            1 teaspoon baking soda
            1 teaspoon McCormick® Cream of Tartar
            1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg
           

            Directions:
            1.  Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add egg and 
vanilla and mix well.  Combine remaining ingredients and slowly add to butter 
mixture.  Chill dough. 
            2.  Preheat oven to 375°F.  Roll to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly 
floured* surface and cut into shapes.  Decorate if desired.  Bake on greased 
baking sheet 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

            *Combine 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar to use for 
dusting surface.
