9.3.2 Controlling line breaks [1]
"A line break is defined to be a carriage return (

), or a carriage return/line feed pair. All line breaks constitute
white space."

And if you ask me, I prefer to use BRs in forms than in other places for the
sole purpose of clearing elements ;)
