This sounds like on Win95, but I get it working in offline mode as
well but not fetch mode (with Win95 classic) and not at all with Win95
OSR2.

I don't think that these are important.  It just means that the
windows hosts file (c:/windows/hosts I think, the documentation should
tell you) is not set up correctly.  The format of the file is exactly
the same as the UNIX one.
