Hi Ron,

I have been working with WWWOFFLE's author, Andrew Bishop, in the testing
and debuggine of a version 2.6a for Windows.

I must say that with Andrew's high standards of programming, the porting and
commissioning of WWWOFFLE into Win32 has been far more straightforward than
is the case with most Un*x programs, even with Cygwin.

WWWOFFLE v2.6a is built with Cygwin 1.1.7, so is free of most or all of the
problems caused by earlier versions of Cygwin.

Andrew hasn't yet approved the alpha release of this version, but I'm sure
he won't mind if I tell you where to download the *alpha* version of 2.6a.

Testing of this version is not extensive as yet, but I have tried it on
Windows 98 and 2000 with no perceivable problems.

When you install this version, you would be well advised to (backup and)
delete any previous versions.
Also, please respect that this version is *alpha*, and should not be
indiscriminately disseminated.

This version is pre-released as a .exe installer file, and is available from
http://welcome.to/wwwoffle
You should have it up within 60 seconds, plus the time to config the proxy
settings in your browser (20 secs?).

I look forward to reports of your success (and/or otherwise) with this
version.
