Dear Jürgen, Yes, I never get that SMTP acronym right. In version 2.0, I check the POP mailbox (ctrl L), and where all the sending username and password messages could be seen in the pop-up box. Then, to send mail SMTP mail, (ctrl K), and small messages appear on the message line, giving the stages of sending the spooled email: RCPT (email address) Going to send mail Sending mail Spooled mail sent. IF I do not check the POP mailbox, but SMTP, I get a different pop-up window, which contains no information at all. The message at the bottom is "waiting for POP verification", and that eventually gets overwritten. If I try and close XCmail, I get a message about trying to send mail. This is all known about, but I write here to show the difference with 2.0.1. In version 2.0.1, If I do not check POP mail first, I (sometimes?) get a pop-up window, again blank of any information. I get small messages on the message line about sending username, password, and then this closing connection message. Closing XCmail gives the trying to send email message. Email is not sent. If I do check POP mail first, the pop-up window does not appear, but the message are the same and the result is the same. I'm using the same settings, same server, same test message and as same user, simply using the two different versions of xcmail (2.0 and 2.0.1). 2.0.1 does not send the spooled mail, whereas 2.0 does. I have not asked for the SMTP window to not be opened, by the way. Hope this helps, I will not be able to do anything else on this today. Regards, David Pilgram.
