Hi Jürgen and John,

I have xcmail 2.3 devel. Nedit 5.2 Linux 2.2.6 Slackware. I can test on
2.4.19 Slackware at some point. 2 button pointer on ps/2 port. Afterstep
1.0 "Classic" is used as window manager.

Test 1.

Using pointer, highlight text in xcmail.
In Nedit press left button, and, while pressed, press right button, text
is copied into Nedit.

I've not checked to see how large a buffer, but certainly at least one
multi-line paragraph.

Test 2.

Using pointer, highlight different text in xcmail.
Right click on pointer, highlight "Copy" (or, in independent test, ctrl-c)
Move to Nedit
Try Nedit's paste
Found some text that I had copied across from a Wordperfect document
(nothing to do with the email or the text).
Do repeat of left button, hold down, right button, get the different (but
correct) text pasted into nedit.

(It does not matter that xcmail was on one user account running on Xwindows
0:0, the nedit was on a different user account)

Test 3.
Using technique in 1, but to paste in web address into Netscape location
bar

This worked as 1

Test 4

Using technique in 1, Links -g (graphical mode)
This did *not* work, i.e. could not paste in url into Links location.

Don't know how much help this is in identifying why text does not copy
across. However, since I've always used this pointer method, I've never
seen the problem as descirbed before. I was surprised about the nedit
case given in case 2. I only tried test 4 today because of report and
current email correspondance.

Not an XCmail developer.
Just helping out, after giving
Jürgen so much grief in the past.
