use of tar.gz to compress the roms

Hi, people,

The xmame is really a great work. Many games that I think I never play again, I can do 
it with xmame. So, I have a idea to make the xmame better.
I think that the xmame will be better if the roms can compressed with tar.gz too. The 
xmame supports gzip, but only with compress every file alone.
With you want to compress the roms in a single file, you have to use the zip, but the 
algoritm of gzip is much better.
It really great if the roms can be compressed with tar.bz2 too. The bzip2 is better 
than gzip.
It can take some work, but it will save much space of hd.
