So I got a "new" video card (NVidia TNT2 Vanta LT 16MB), installed the XFree86 4.01 drivers and the kernel module and the OpenGL libraries, ran the Quake3 demo to make sure it all worked (it did), and the headed straight to xmame to try out the opengl driver. I'm guessing something ain't right, since I'm only getting ~15fps (for most games). I cleaned out all other libGL.so* files, so it's not using Mesa by accident, although I did leave behind libGLU.so, since NVidia doesn't supply one of those (is that glut?). Can anyone lend me a clue? (I'll give it right back, I swear.) Oh, and it's not my machine, I have a 900MHz Duron. I had been using SDL with Patrice Mandin's fullscreen patches (which seem to be broken by b10) in 16bpp mode. But in 24/32bpp mode it gets really hosed - looks like an alignment/wordlength problem. Any thoughts before I'm forced to read up on SDL? To continue my whine, under XFree 3.3.x I used DGA, but now that seems to alternately hang my machine completely, or just give me a permanent black screen. Which I gather is a known problem. thanks, Dan Scholnik --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send administrative requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
