First,download the full source code at
http://x.mame.net/download.html

then unpack it.
Enter the source code directory and rebuild it with the command
"make DISPLAY_METHOD=SDL"

then "make install"

Now the SDL support is compiled in the excuteable binary at
/usr/local/bin/xmame.SDL and the -fullscreen option is available now.

try

"xmame.SDL pacman -fullscreen"

My XMAME version (0.106) doesn't recognize it...do you know other method?
