1> I don't know how to start installing the source Xmame, can someone explain mebriefly, but naming all the files I need to do something with?
After you compile, to be perfectly honest, the resultant binary (xmame.x11, xmame.sdl, whatever) is all you need to be able to run mame. you can move the tools or use the make install script or whatever, but if you want, you can just put xmame.x11 somewhere that you know it is.
2> I have seen the problem of the binary Xmame was, when trying to set fullscreen, I get the message "can't open /dev/3dfx". I don't have that file, since my distro is Momonga (kinda strange, but I think a bit similar to Fedora). But I read somewhere thatthe most similar thing in my distribution is "/usr/lib/libglide3.so.3" COuld someone tell me how to make that work with fullscreen?
Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the glide target is fairly deprecated, and only useful in the unlikely event you have a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card. You really, really, really should consider grabbing the source to the latest version and compiling it. Really.
