Your 500mhz CPU will work with xmame.
Acceptable minimum requirement I would
say:
P3 650Mhz CPU
256MB RAM
VIDEO CARD w/16MB RAM
Though xmame can run with less, I would expect it
to work on:
Pentium II CPU (233 Mhz)
128 MB RAM
VIDEO CARD w/4MB RAM
General Rule:
Games with simple graphics don't require very high
end system. (Usually those with small sized ROM sets).
Games with complex graphics or lots of action
(bullets flying everywhere; lots of movement) will either run slow or experience
slow downs. (ie: Gunbird 2 - takes lots of RAM to work & has many
bullets going in every direction, King Of Fighters 2000, etc.). Games with
large sized ROM sets *may* require a higher end system (some could work ok &
others will not).
Best way to find out is to download xmame & run
the games.
