Subject: boot problems when using jackhammer SCSI card

can't seem to boot off of drive connected to jackhammer nubus card

- system, 8100, NEWER G#, 264M, dual 911 seagates, 8.6, FWB HDT 4.5

- reformatted with FWB HDT 4.5, connected to jackhammer card, sys folder is
there

- refuses to boot off of it, goes back to the other drive connected to the
motherboard

- even unplugged the motherboard drive, then can't find sys folder

It could be a termination problem. Assuming that you just ahve one cable connected to the JackHammer, then you need to have all three resistor packs installed on the JackHammer to provide termination at the JackHammer end of the SCSI chain.

And the hard drive at the end of your SCSI cable needs to have termination enabled and only that one, or there needs to be a separate terminator on its own connector at the end of the cable.
