first, i assume you know that outhouse is the original virus magnet, but ignoring that...
M.S. writes spy ware, or more specifically, everything microsoft writes is spyware. look at that folder in hex edit or a similiar utillity, you'll probably find you're deleted messages weren't really and are still there for anyone who looks a little harder. i haven't tried it, but that's my guess. i do know for a fact that microsoft word IS spy ware, i use netscape exclusively online, and don't even have outlook or explorer any where on the hard drive. i've previously noticed my desktop files were huge, looked at them in hexedit and guess what, there were parts of and some complete pieces of my emails. i've since verified that word is the culprit, by deleting the desktop, rebuilding it, restarting, looking at the 2 desktop files in hexedit, and then running word and checking the desktop files again. i've done this more than once, sure enough, word had bloated my desktop files, with emails from netscape. i've also verified that netscape does not do this. word is deliberately, and rather selectively adding parts of mail files to the desktop files. it's too specific to be an accident, the mail files always wind up there, other files don't. it's not a bug, it's microsoft spyware. it explains a lot, BILL GATES IS A SPOOK! which also explains the sweat heart deal he got with ibm that started it all, normally ibm would never have let him retain the rights to dos (which he actually ripped off, early versions still have someone elses copyright statement in the code, the original author didn't sue because ibm was involved and he was a lowly individual. i've seen an interview with the guy on tv, it is real, bill gates is the original pirate which explains a lot). do yourself and the net a favor, use something else for email, even if you do use exploiter for browsing the web will still be a better place if you dump outhouse.
