Regarding the question about making the Outlook Express mail file smaller
(if it hasn't been answered yet), hold down the Option key while starting
OE.  A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to "compact" the databases.
This can take a while.  When it is done, another dialog will inform you that
the old databases have been renamed (but they are retained in case there is
something wrong with the newly compacted ones).  You can manually delete
them later, after making sure the new ones work properly.

I happen to like OE and use it regularly.
