1) you should ALWAYS remove the cache stick whenever a G3 card is installed; this applies to PCI Macs as well, 2) use Drive Setup, wherever possible, and from the latest MacOS, wherever possible; for a 9.x install, the minimum acceptable Drive Setup is probably 1.6.1, but don't quote me on that, 3) for my 9150 (essentially an 8100 on steroids), 9.0 (from a universal installer CD-ROM) went on slick as a goose, and I then installed 9.1 (from an upgrade CD-ROM made from a downloaded image); I don't believe 9.2 is possible. If you're attempting to use the HPV video card through the "HPV Passthrough" feature, try using the builtin video instead. Not all G3 cards properly implement the passthrough, especially those which are 300 MHz and above.
