In a message "vicki" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>writes:

<<i now have the 8150 G3 running 9.0.4.

is any other cd rom ext i can use as it was the cd/dvd ext that was freezing
the 8150
out.

The cd rom can not be used unless i disable the max power card via th
extensions manager first. then reboot .>>

First I would try the free download to the 9.1 upgrade that fixed a number of
problems in 9.04.

If that failed (or is not easy to do) I would try making the offending CD ROM
extension load earlier in startup by adding a space or two before the first
letter of the extension's name. Or adding a "z" or "tilde" before the name
make it load toward the end of the startup. The idea is get it to load earlier or
later from the conflicting extension.

If no joy you try using the old CD ROM ext in question from you old OS 8
system.
