For example, the link below has several ATA adapters sold by Sonnet, some of which are made by Acard, others are made by Promise: http://sonnettech.com/product/pci_adptrs.html
Here is Acard's site (not terribly user friendly): http://www.acard.com/eng/

I have an adaptec 29160n would this work??

No, upgrading the processor won't help do what you want. If you want to get around the stupid 8 GB OS X boot partition limitation, you need to buy a new ATA card. This will also help speed up disk input and output, since the ATA built-in to the motherboard is now quite dated.
I like the Acard ATA cards, btw.

I have a G3 300 Beige and hate the fact that I can't have a bigger partion than 8gb in OS X, My question is if I upgrade the processer can I get around that problem, i don't want to go to the blue and white because i want floppy, zip and other connectors.
