On my Nubus PowerMac (and 8100/G3 with 9.1), I use (and recommend) Sleeper
by St. Claire Software.

    http://www.stclairsoft.com/

It has many screen and energy saving options, and it simply works... even on
the ol' first-gen PowerMacs that are not even supported by Apple's built-in
energy saver contro panel. There's even a special hidden "bug-workaround"
preference that fixes what the author calls "a bug in the video of AV Macs"
(hold down the Option and Command keys and click on the Help button to see
this option). If you don't select this option, a few of the features will
not work on the monitor attached to an AV card, which probably does not
apply for your 6116CD.

It's $25 shareware and you can try it for a limited time before paying.
