A type 10 error can be attributed to 68k emulation problems and not enough or
damaged RAM.

What's in YOUR System Folder? Any old 68k programs or inits/cdevs?>>

Good point. However this is a clean install on a new drive -- so no legacy
68k stuff and unless 9.1 is much more picky about RAM than OS 8.6 I don't think
these are the problem(s).

This problems started a couple of weeks ago, right after installation. Since
I have upgraded to QuickTime 6.03. Installed Netscape 7.0 and Stuffit Standard
(expander) 7.01. I still think this problem existed before any new software
was installed with the exception of Maxpowr 2.0.5. The CP does work OK when
Maxpowr is turned off.

I have another 6100 with a NewerTech G3-240Mhz. card and can try this
external drive on that 6100 to see if the same problem exists. Glad you mentioned no
problem with the 240 MHz version. It gives me something new to try!

Or, I can just reinitialize the 9.1 GB drive and reinstall OS 9.1 (too many
9.1's, hope its not confusing). Perhaps another clean install will solve the
problem. There is nothing of value on the drive.

Thanks for your input. --glen (digest mode)
