I stayed at 8.6 I have other computers for 9 and 10. But that
old pizza box just keeps humming along. I do e-mail, faxes in and
out, letters, some scanning. Burn CDs. I think I can instant message
on it if I want. Really a sweet player for something almost 10 years
old. I have replaced 2 pram batteries and upgraded the original hard
drive.. I was thinking of system 9 but do not see what I would be
really missing. Thing runs almost 24/7
Can't see throwing these away when kids can not afford them
and for very cheap they have a mac that does what most people do with
a computer. E-mail, letters, the net and school work.
Geoff
I agree. My 6100 has been a good machine for our kids. It's quiet and even at the original speed it runs games for small children. The cds stay in good shape because I have a 2x cd-rom drive with caddies in it. The games don't require anything bigger than the 13" monitor.
