There's never any harm in sticking with a Mac you like. Weigh the cost of the upgrade against a new equally equipped G3. If there's not that much difference, go ahead, buy the Sonnet. Make sure you have plenty of RAM, too. nothing less, these days, IMHO, than 136MB. That maxes it out officially, but rumor has it you can go to 264MB. Do this if you want to try OS X on it.
