I see that you're not getting any replies from those who really know. Here's my tuppence worth.
As far as I know, the first problem may be possibly to do with the power supply - the 5200 may, or may not, have what it takes to run the 6400 board. However, the 6400 board may be the real problem - these aren't really up to much, the 6500 board is much superior. From my own experience, I could only ever get a 6400 board to work in a 5260 with somewhat limited graphic capabilities. The 6400 board seems best for 6400s, and not much else.
On the other hand, I've transplanted 6500 boards into LC 630s and 6200s. These are running 9.2.2 with 17" pc monitors.
Hope a real expert can shed some light!

I am trying to upgrade a 5200/75 LC.
I installed a working logic board from a 6400/180 and when the machine starts up, it just sits at the "disk with a question mark" screen. When I try booting from a CD, and then it freezes at the "Happy Mac" screen after reading only a little bit from the CD drive.
Reinstalling the original 5200 logic board restores the machine to normal function, and the 6400 runs fine when I reinstall its logic board.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks, -Dennis
