No. <<My second question concerns a G 3 upgrade. Can I install a processor upgrade and not have to use the pigtail for the monitor. It tends to drive my up a wall. My experience is that they where out fast.>> Throw out the DOS card away and add a G3 upgrade. I know the Newer Technology MAXpowr G3 upgrades have a slot for either the AV or the HPV Cards that shipped with the 6100/7100/8100's. A right angle adapter for those cards is recommended. I have read Sonnet upgrades have a pass trough for a video card but I think they also need some sort of adapter. <<I would be interesed in any ideas on upgrading my 6100. I'm a Bi-vocational Pastor, so needless to say money is an issue.>> The best I can offer is definitely go for a G3 upgrade. I have seen them for as low as $30 on the LEM Swap list. HPV cards can be had in the $10 range. I'm running 264 MB RAM on my 3 - 6100's. Two 128 MB RAM SIMMs cost about $70 with shipping. Lotsa' RAM is important. <<I want to use this to run office software, digital photography, and Email. I may have to use it as a server for a web site as well. I thought I could tap into your wisdom before I start the project.>> Office software and Email should be no problem. I run PhotoShop 4.0 and PageMaker 6.5 for light graphics work also with no problems. Commercial graphics work is done on my PCI Macs. Digital photos are downloaded to one of the PCI Macs with a USB card and shared with 6100 over Ethernet. I know nothing about using it as a webserver. Perhaps a second dedicated computer would be better for that?? The 6100 IMHO is still a very useful machine. I using one now -- but they do have there limitations.
