if the switch has enough sections available, you can wire the sense lines through, as should have been done in the first place. if not, grounding all 3 will i believe tell the mac it's a 21" monitor and allow all resolutions. there is an apple tech note on how the monitor sensing works, generally the simpler codes are adequate for a multisync monitor, the ones that require diodes to implement are generally only needed for fixed resolution monitors. it's also possible to add a monitor resolution switch for each machine with a little wiring.
if any one is interested, i'd be happy to dig up the tech note, but it should still be in the developer part of apple's web site (which requires free registration, but then everything is available, though i think they had dropped that silliness the last time i was there). you may also just want to change the hard wired code built into the switch to match what's appropriate for the larger monitor. modifying the kvm one way or another will be the cheapest route, if you know someone who can do simple electronics work, "dongle's" or converters will be the most expensive, and probably more than buying a newer kvm from another list member. i recently got 2 correctly wired 5 port (4 machine) adb kvm boxes for $40+shipping on the swaplist. try aron, ask if his are the correctly wired model, he had some for $19 ea. i believe (for 5 port).
