the power supply is probably toast, it's either got a short or thinks it does, or the 
caps
have failed (not always obvious) and it effectively has a short.  power supplies are 
one
of the less reliable parts of any computer, i've seen them fail just from being moved 
from
one apartment to another not far away, just a few jerks or bumps.
