I used to do it somewhat like that, too, but if you just unplug the cd rom & slide that out, you can access the ram spots, one hand reaching through the front, through the cd slot, the other down from the top, between the ps & the floppy.
Like anything else in a 7100, you'll probably cut yourself on the metal
parts surrounding the PSU in the process...
Actually I've gotten cut up on PCs much more than on any Mac. I never have
drawn blood taking the power supply out of a 7100. Just remove the keepers,
use a screw driver to loosen it, and it lifts straight up out of the case.
You have to remove the power supply before you take out the drive tray to
add RAM, or do any other number of services on the machine.
