Hello list,

I am planning to make a cable modem router out of a 1st powermac. Since first I thought of a 6100 due to its compactness. Someone suggested even earlier model. I have a IIsi, a IIvx and a Performa 475. The latter is of my great interest since it is a 68040 (LC), it sports a LC PDS card with RJ45 ethernet port and is even more compact than 6100. I do have a 7.5.3 on it but have thought of installing debian 68k linux. Before reminding me to post this on another list here are my questions:
I think I need two ethernet ports on the machine - one that will connect directly to the cable modem with a fixed ip and another that will be connected to a switch and feed the LAN with it. How do I get two ethernet ports on any machine that sports only one expansion slot? Of all pre-PCI machines only the IIvx has several NuBus slots. Could an appletalk-ethernet hardware bridge be of use? Is there perhaps a NuBus ethernet card that sports two separate interfaces?

Regards,
Boris
