you shouldn't need the resistor between the battery + and the pram connection on the board (i.e. the lower one in the figure), it's redundant and will add a voltage drop, probably too much voltage drop or marginally so making things erratic. i also wouldn't put a tube over the battery, you want it to be able to cool and the small amount of heat won't hurt the mac, besides you eventually get the same heat flow but make the battery get hotter in order to lose the heat.
