You're telling us the operating sytems on the hard drive works fine in another PCI Mac.
The 6100 is a NUBUS mac. Most Mac OS versions for PCI macs do not run on a NUBUS Mac.
The installer will select the correct version according to the computer.
If you install an operating system on a hard drive inside a PCI mac, there might be a problem when you try to use the same hard drive with that operating system in a NUBUS Mac.
I think you should try to install a new operating system with the hard drive fitted in the 6100.
