My 6100 had a NewerTech 240Mhz. daughtercard installed and ran OS 9.1
on a hard drive that was once in an 8500/200. The 6100 ran memory that was
two 64MB sticks. Odd stuff, double-stacked chips but worked great in the
6100.

Might your problem be the memory you're trying to use with the Sonnet?
