When a program asks my Color StyleWriter 2400 to print anything, I get a nonspecific message in the Finder that the printer has a "hardware problem". The printer turns on its yellow light and sits there indefinitely.
If I manually request a cartridge test (holding the button down on power-up), the printer starts a test cycle but halts with the yellow light on before printing anything. What can I do to cure this? I have searched for foreign material without seeing any, have cleaned the printer and its excess-ink collector, and have exchanged ink cartridges with others known to be working, all to no avail.
