Hi Mel;

Here's my best guesses for things to play with...

Furst, 'Assuming' you've changed nothing in hardware except for
the cartridge...

1: verify to make sure the correct item is still selected
in the chooser. (Obvious, but I'm not making any assumptions)

2: Sometimes Ethernet seems to goof things up. Try turning
it off if in use. Note that you must tell it to close the
window and save changes before it is changed officially by
the system. (Assuming you're on something before system 10)
   ( After 9.?? I have no idea )

3: If you have extras installed like a switch box, remove it
to verify it is not the problem.

4: If you run your machine 24/7, do a restart to see if that
corrects things AFTER you've turned gone through the others.

5: Are you attempting to print a very large file. Sometimes
that can booger things up a bit too. I never did resolve
   that one.

6: Reinstall of the printer stuff from the original installer
may make it behave if something went awry in perhaps having a
driver meant for use on a 68 k mac while running a power mac.

7: Have you updated to a newer machine since the onset of the
difficulties? I have that problem on one machine right now
and have not resolved it yet. I suspect that a driver is
   'out to lunch' or something.

HTH
