Greetings! I have just upgraded my 7100 with a 400 mHz Sonnet Crescendo G3 card. The manual says that the G3 upgrade is not compatible with SCSI acclerators such as those made by ATTO and Adaptec.
Sonnet tech support confirms this, and told me that the old JackHammer cards aren't compatible, either. They could not tell me what the cause or reason for this problem may be. Does anyone out there have any experiece with SCSI acclerators and these G3 upgrades? Do the MaxPower (Newer Tech) upgrades have the same problem? Has anyone out there gotten a SCSI accelerator to work with a G3 upgrade in some way? I have both ATTO cards and a JackHammer. Also, has anyone ever had any success in getting 64 megabyte SIMMs to work in a 7100? Thanks, Fr. Rob Johansen -- A computer without Windows is like a dog without bricks tied to its head. Fr.
