Hey folks...

I hope this isn't too offtopic. Anyway, a few months ago I got a PowerMac
6300 from a family member complete with the original monitor. The monitor
is a Apple MultiScan 15" with the built-in speakers. I think this was the
standard monitor to ship with all the Performas of that era.

Anyway, the monitor display is pretty blurry. Enough so that reading
normal-size text at 640x480 hurts your eyes after a while. But not so bad
that you can't tell what you're looking at. It also gets worse the longer
the monitor is powered on. It actually starts out pretty crisp and clear
when you first boot up/turn on the monitor but progressively gets worse
until it seems to plateau at a certainly degree of blurriness.

There is no sharpness control on the outside of these monitors but I was
wondering if there is some interal adjustment control I can get to that
might clear up this problem.

Any chance of remedying this, or is the monitor just old and dying? I
think I read somewhere that this particular model of Apple monitor is
prone to failure, but I don't think it was specific as to what *KIND* of
failure. It's not a big deal since I have a much newer, nicer monitor
hooked up to the 6300 right now but monitors are expensive pieces of
equipment and I'd hate to have to junk one if I don't have to.

Thanks for help,
  Nat
