A blurry monitor is an indication of "bloom". It's the flyback
transformer's way of saying goodbye slowly.

Adjusting the bright / sharp internally is a matter of tweaking in two
different areas. Some flybacks, the black cylinder-like component with the
red cord leading to the picture tube, have two adjustments: Bright and
Focus, while others only have Bright.

The second area for adjustments is on the back of the picture tube. Cranking
up the gain on the Red, Green and Blue potentiometers can brighten a
picture. But if the flyback is going bad, that'll only make it worse.

Replacing the flyback's an option, but you still deal with the rest of the
aging components.

These monitors went bad more commonly due to the early ruin of the push-in
on / off switch up front.

Disclaimer: There's deadly voltage inside a color monitor. Don't work
inside one unless you're familiar with the procedures.
