I have put a 5200 board in my LC630 and it worked fine.
I believe the 6300 works also but the 6360 requires a 6360 psu.

Hi list,

what motherboards will work in a performa 630? If I inspect a 5400
motherboard it has exactly the same connectors (and it physically fits)
but references only mention a 6300 type motherboard so I have not tried
turning it on. Any details?

Boris

The motherboards in the series of Macs using that style differ by where the
connectors at the end are oriented. Some have the hard drive power conn. at
the right, viewed from the top, and others have it on the left.

The 5400 and 6400, in memory, have black ends and the connector I mentioned
is on the right.

The 630 has a white end and the connector's on the left.

I know the 6200 series can be sped up placing in a 6300 series board, but I
don't believe you'll be able to do that with the 630.
