I may be a bit wrong on the details, but I know a 5500/6500 board will swap as I've done it, though there may be some power supply capacity problems if you try sticking a G3 upgrade, two PCI cards, and a comm slot card all in at the same time. The 5400/6400 board don't as they don't provide their own 3.3 V. Or something like that. It's the reason the 6360 doesn't work, as it's essentially a 6400.<snip>
Hi all;
The 62xx, 63xx and 6360 motherboards "WILL" fit and work in the 630. The
only "gotcha" is that with the 6360 board you have to use the 6360 power
supply. While it is true that the 630, 62xx, 63xx power supply will power
the 6360 board, the 6360 power supply is beefier due to the 6360's PCI
architecture and available PCI slot.
I have a 638CD running a 6230CD MOBO and 2 6360's and have swapped MOBO's
around a lot for t'shooting purposes and they all worked with no problems.
I read on one of the lists some time back that the 52xx and 53xx MOBO's
will also swap. HTH
