Hi, fellows!

I have just got an external Ricoh 6x2x2x CD-RW drive for my PowerMac
6100/60 (72 Mb RAM, System 8.1). I have been able to make the PowerMac
"see" it (if I open Drive Setup, it reports a CD-ROM drive at ID 5,
where it is really), but when I insert a disk inside it, it doesn't
try to read it, and (of course) it doesn't show in the desktop. The
Apple CD-ROM extension is enabled, of course. I think I need a
third-party CD-ROM driver because Apple's own will only work with
Apple-branded drives. Where can I get it? I plan to share the drive
between my PowerMac and my Classic II (System 7.6.1), so I would like
to get a 'fat' driver that would work with both PowerPC and 68k
processors.

On other order of things, I think burning CD-RWs would be a quite easy
way of sharing CDs between my Macs and my PCs (that's because I have
got a CD writer instead a regular CD-ROM drive). What burning software
is best fitted for my PowerMac? Do I need an additional driver in
order to burn CDs with a Mac, or it will be enough to have a working
CD-ROM driver and a CD-burning software?

Greetings,

Antonio Rodrguez (Grijan)
